WORKSHOPS - STONE WORKSHOP

In Bodrum buildings generally the regional andezit stone is used. Some of Bodrum’s oldest structures, the Myndos Gate and the Bodrum Fortress and many other civil architectural buildings have andesite in their structures.
In the construction of Yarbasan Estates we used the very same andezit stones that we reaped from the Yarbasan Hill itself.
Stone crafts are done by experts from Çine, Yataðan, and Kütahya with whom we have been working with for a long time.
Stones are crafted by hand using hammers and other such appliances, and then the walls are mounted using traditional ways.
The sand used in the knitting of the walls is the ak-earth mined from Ortakent’s old sand-mines.
In the walls ak-earth, concrete, and water-proof supplements were used.
